Clausena lansium BURM.f.(Rutaceae) is known to abound with carbazoles and coumarins, and a variety of pharmacologic effects, such as anti-gastrointestinal inflammation,hepatoprotective,anti-tumor,etc.,have been reported for this plant. In order to support the research work, related literatures, including structure types, spectrum characteristics and bioactivities of these components from Clausena genus, were fully reviewed by this thesis. The dichlormethane extract of the sun-dried stems was subjected successively to Si gel column, preparative TLC,preparative HPLC and Sephadex LH-20 column to give 19 compounds including 11 carbazole alkaloids,1 indole,1 amide, five furocoumarins and one sistol.By analysis of their physical-chemical characters and spectroscopic data (EI-MS,HR-ESI-MS,1H-,13C- NNR,H-H COSY,HSQC,TOCSY,HMBC),their structures were elucidated as:Claulansine-A(1),Claulansine-B(2),Claulansine-C (3),Clauseindole(4 ),Claulansitin(5 ),3-formylcarbazole(6 ),Methyl carbazole-3-carboxylate(7 ),O-demethylmurrayanine(8 ),3-formyl-6-methoxy carbazole (9),3-formyl-2-hydroxy-6-methoxy carbazole(10 ),Indizoline(11 ), 1-hydroxy-3-formyl-4-prenylcarbazole(12),4-methoxy-1-methylquinolin-2-one(13 ), 8-hydroxyfurocoumarin(14 ),Imperatorin(15 ),Alloisoimperatorin(16 ),Heraclenol (17),Wampetin(18),and sitosterol(19),.Five of them, including Compound-1, -2,-3,-4,-5 were identified as novel compounds, while Compound 13 was isolated from Clausena genus for the first time, and Compound-10,-12,-17 were isolated from the species of Clausena lansium for the first time.Based on the chemical study, the HPLC profile of the stems, roots, leaves and petiolar part of the plant were compared to each other and to the reference compounds.A preliminary quantitative study of the content of Compound 15 was also performed. Results indicated that the chemical profile of the roots and stems were very similarity, there is possibility to use the stems as the substitute of the roots in some cases, which can be remarkably beneficial to the protection of plant resources.
