Purpose:Observation of Electroacupuncture on perimenopausal depression in rat behavior and brainβ-endorphin content;explore acupuncture treatment of perimenopausal depression mechanism of action.Material and methods:4-month-old 10 female SD rats, body weight(150~200) g for the young group;11~15-month-old female SD rats of 45,weight(250~300) g,high to low grade according to the weight, according to random number table is divided into 3 groups:model group,electro-acupuncture group, western medicine group, through the unpredictability of chronic stimulation, the establishment of peri-menopausal rat model of depression.Needle electro-acupuncture group,"Baihui","Sanyinjiao","Shenshu","Ganshu,:1 a day, for 1 week;Western medicine group 5m/kg oral clomipramine treatment;youth group and model group, given only to stimulate crawling. In the previous model, before and after treatment, the use of open-field experiment(open-Field) method Test, 1 week after treatment using ELISA method on brainβ-endorphin,serum estradiol testing and analysis.Results:1.Open-field test, the model group and youth group, the horizontal movement, vertical movement level decreased significantly(P<0.01);treatment, electro-acupuncture group and model group, western medicine group and model group, respectively, compared to the level of exercise, level of vertical movement(P<0.05);treatment,electro-acupuncture group and western medicine group, the horizontal movement, vertical movement was no significant difference (P>0.05).2.Model group and youth group, serum estradiol,cerebralβ-endorphin significantly increased(P<0.01);treatment,electro-acupuncture group and model group, western medicine group were compared with model group, serum estradiol,cerebralβ-endorphin increased significantly(P<0.05);Treatment, electro-acupuncture group compared with the western medicine group serum estradiol,β-endorphin content in the brain was no significant difference (P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupuncture can improve the rat brainβ-endorphin content and improve the content of serum estradiol to improve perimenopausal depression, behavioral changes in rats.2.Acupuncture maybe achieve the treatment of perimenopausal period of depression by regulating the content ofβ-endorphin in the brain.
