Diabetic -Fatty liver disease is one of the chronic complications in the development of diabetes mellitus. Modern -medicine has a relatively comprehensive knowledge about the pathogenesis of diabetes currently but lack of reliable efficacy drugs which is still the obstacle for the treatment. Now we find that Traditional Chinese Medicine has already shown its great potential, it has a good effect using under the guidance of the unique theory of TCM. For more than twenty years, Professor Zhu Guo-ru has not only kept on researching the morden medical theories but also has the profound understanding of traditional Chinese Medicine theory and Accumulated rich experiences in endocrine clinical. Professor Zhu considers its pathogenesis related to improper diet, lack of exercise, excessive tiredness, emotional disorders, disease, etc., then in accordance with clinical symptoms, Diabetic -Fatty liver was classified into two categories - non-related symptoms and related symptoms. Professor believes the treatment should focus on the essence after birth-Spleen meanwhile attaching importance to the specific therapy to the pathological phlegm, blood stasis, etc. She also emphasized that it is important to treat the primary and secondary aspects of a disease at the same time while tonificating and eliminating at the same time.She invented Kun-Xun Hua Tan Decoction for the Diabetic -Fatty liver disease, and it has good results in clinical study. Professor Zhu paid more attention to mutual influence between diabetes and fatty liver, emphasized the monism to understand the relationship-diabetes and fatty liver and treat diabetes - fatty liver by reinforceing spleen. According to the clinical symptoms and characteristics, the disease could be divided into to four categories: stagnation of liver-qi, accumulation of phlegm, profuse expectoration and liver kidney-yin deficiency.She made appropriate prescriptions for the four categories to meet clinical practice and the prescriptions was proved to be effective and safe. The author intented to introduce Professor Zhu's Experience and acknowledge of the disease.
