Peer education derives from Australia, and it has become a widely used method of education in the field of social development after years of development. It not only applies to the field of reproductive health and AIDS prevention, but also used in the aspect of abstention from tobacco and drink, capacity-building of women, opposition to family violence and so on. At present, the domestic study for peer education has just started, which mainly focuses on some special areas such as youth sex education and AIDS prevention and concerns little about the community corrections for the group of drug abuse. In addition, many countries only aim at "one to one" cases for study, as the concept of peer education does not penetrate the system of whole social work. Therefore, the problem of how to harmonize the concept with social work and use it in the practice of community drug treatment in order to improve effects possesses both theoretical significance and practical significance to further spread the research area and the application of peer education. This article is divided into four chapters. The first chapter sums up the basic concept of peer education. The second chapter focuses on the personality of drug addict to illustrate the applicability and essentiality of peer education for the community drug corrections. The third chapter gives an example of the pattern on peer education for anti-drug in Shanghai to analyze the application modes in community drug treatment. The fourth chapter sorts out practical issues such as the lack of forms of peer education, the counselor training system and monitoring facilities and also the shortage of fund and so on. On the basis of theory and practical analysis, this article provides some policy proposals and ideas on further improving the working system of peer education, strengthening professional training of peer counselors and establishing the system of community resources allocation.
