Japanese encephalitis is a kind of nervous disease caused by Japanese Encephalitis Virus, which is an arbovirus. Bats, as a reservoir of JEV, play an important role on viruses store and transmission. In order to know distribution of JEV in bat's population and develop an efficient protection measure against JEV, in this study, 73 bats of two species (63 from Rousettus leschenaultia and 10 from Cynopterus brachyoti) were collected on May, 2007 in Xinyi city, Guangdong, China. We used RT-PCR method to detect whether there were JEV in bats'brain. RT-PCR results showed that no JEV was found out of all of those 73 bats sampled from Xinyi.
