Background and objective:Dengue fever/Dengue hemorrhagic fever and Japanese encephalitis are global important arbor virus infectious diseases. Dengue is a re-emerging infectious disease which annual incidence is increasing and endemic in Southeast Asia, India, west Pacific Ocean and South America areas. It outbreaks frequently and the scale is more and more large than before in world. 3,000~5,000 Japanese encephalitis cases are reported annual in Asia. And it occurs from the islands of west Pacific in the east to the Pakistan border in the west, and from Korea in the North to Papua New Guinea in the South.Dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic were endemic early in 1873 in China. Most cities along the coast have dengue fever cases before 50's in 20th century in China. And there was no incidence for 30 years. Dengue fever reemerged in 1978 in Foshan, Guangdong province and was spread in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces till today. Japanese encephalitis is now endemic in parts of China besides Xinjiang, Qinghai, Xizang and the north areas of Northeast China. Japanese encephalitis is periodic epidemic from 50's~70's in 20th century which cases distributed in east areas along the coast. After the use of live attenuated vaccine, its incidence declined obviously and the nationwide prevalence disappeared. Recently, the reported incidence bellowed 1 case per 100,000, and there were 8,000-12,000 Japanese encephalitis cases annually.Aedes aegypti is a major vector transmitting dengue fever in urban-dwelling.
