Objective:To investigate the expression and the relation to the tumor biological characteristics of angiotensinⅡ(AngⅡ) and angiotensinⅡtypeⅠreceptor(ATlR) in human hepatocellular carcinoma tissue. Methods:The expression of AngⅡand ATlR were detected by means of immunohistochemical method in specimens from hepatocellular carcinoma tissue and para-carcinoma tissue in 45 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and 12 cases of normal hepatic tissues. Results:The AngⅡwas expressed in 39 of 45(86.67%)cases of human hepatocellular carcinoma and in 7 of 45(15.56%) of para-carcinoma.ATlR was expressed in 41 of 45(91.11%) cases of human hepatocelluar carcinoma and in 10 of 45(22.22%) of para-carcinoma.The expression of AngⅡand ATlR in normal hepatic tissues was negative. The expression of AngⅡand ATlR in hepatocellular carcinoma is not correlative to the age and gender of the patient,HbsAg(+/-),the tumor volume, the level of AFP and hepatic cirrhosis background(P<0.05).There were significant differences in the expression of AngⅡand ATlR between different clinical stages and different pathological grades(P<0.01,P<0.01).Conclusion:The expression of AngⅡand ATlR are enhanced in hepatocellular carcinoma tissue and higher the expression of AngⅡand ATlR was, higher the clinical stages and the pathological grades was.The results indicated that the AngⅡand ATlR may play an important role in the pathogenesis, development and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma.
