Objective:To discuss the best time to acupuncture intervention of post-operative urine retention of cervical carcinoma. Methods:There are 60 cases of cervical carcinoma patients with post-operative indwelling catheter. They were divided into two groups, the observer group and the control group. Each group has 30 cases. The observer group for the 7~14 days after operation. The control group for more than 14 days. The patients in the two groups were treated by electro-acupuncture treatment. The residual urine volume to be determined before and after treatment.By comparing the differents of residual urine volume changes between the two groups,to find the best time to acupuncture intervene.Results:1.The observer group's total effective rate was 90%,the control group's total effective rate was 73.3%.There were significant differences in total effective rates between two groups(P<0.05).2.The observer group markedly increased the discharged urinary volume and decreased the residual urine volume than the control group after treatment with significant differences(P<0.05).3.After 5 times of treatment the bladder function rehabilitation rate of the observer group was 46.7%compared with the 20.0%of the control group, with significant difference(P<0.05).There are no significant differences in the bladder function rehabilitation rate between the observer group(73.3%)and the control group(50%)after 10 times of treament(P>0.05).4.After 5 times of treatment there were no differences in treatment times of the recovery of automatic micturition patients between two groups.Treatment times were (4.9±2.0)in observer group and(6.4±1.9)in control group with significant differences(P<0.05)after 10 times.5.The bladder residual urine volume below 300ml and age between 20-40 years old have a good effect of acupuncture treatment, but no significant effect of the correlation, P>0.05.Conclusion:7~14 days after cervical carcinoma operation is the best time to acupuncture intervention.
