Shaoyaogancaotang Aconite Soup Freund's Complete Adjuvant Arthritis Serum Tumor Necrosis Factor ¨» Level Of Rat Paw Edema Degree Impact

Objective: This experiment's objective is to discern the possible treatment principles of Shao Yao Gan Cao Fu Zi tang and it's use on the complete Freund's adjuvant rheumatoid arthritis in rats. This objective has been achieved by observing the varying level of the TNF-αin the rats blood serum and the varying of the thickness of the rats'foot joint.Methods: 48 Wistar rats were stochastically divided into 4 groups. These groups were the non-diseased group (group 1 control), the diseased group with the complete Freund's adjuvant rheumatoid arthritis (group 2 pattern), the group treated by Shao YaoGan Cao Fu Zi tang (group 3 treatment a), the group treated by tripterygium wilfordii hook F (TWH) (group 4 treatment b). Beside the control group, the other three groups were all induced with the complete Freund's adjuvant rheumatoid arthritis and had used Shao Yao Gan Cao Fu Zi tang for 21 days since the 12th day when they were induced with CFA. Lastly, the rats'blood serum was collected to test the level of the TNF-α.Results : Shao Yao Gan Cao Fu Zi tang reduces the volume of TNF-αin the blood serum of the rats with complete Freund's adjuvant rheumatoid arthritis. The volume of TNF-αin the blood serum of (group 3 treatment a) is lower than (group 2 pattern)﹙P<0.05﹚ Conclusion: Shao Yao Gan Cao Fu Zi tang effectively treats the syndrome of complete Freund's adjuvant rheumatoid arthritis in rats. We have proved, through our testing, that Shao Yao Gan Cao Fu Zi tang can reduce the volume of the TNF-αin the blood serum of rats with complete Freund's adjuvant rheumatoid arthritis.
