Spleen Yin Deficiency (SYD) is a disease among the differentiations of the Spleen, taking a important part in the theory of the differentiations of internal organs. It can often be seen during clinical treatment. However, the theory of Spleen Yin is considered in lots of different ways nowadays because of the reasons of the history and the spatiality of Spleen Yin itself, especially in the part of the mechanism of the disease. The substance of the thesis is expounding the real mechanism of SYD. The whole thesis is divided into three parts. The first part refers to the research of the literature, mostly introducing the historical beginnings of the theory of Spleen Yin, listing the modern development of the theory of SYD and the focus arguments about it nowadays. The second part explores the mechanism of SYD by exploring the characteristics of the evolution of the disease mechanism, clinical manifestations, treatment principles and modern researches. The third part uses a method of reviewing researches and, on this basement, reveals and verifies the real mechanism of SYD. To achieve this objective is to analyze the description of the SYD mechanism in ancient medicine books and to make a statistics from 54 patients, who are diagnosed as SYD, standardizing their syndromes and summarizing the statistics. The result is proved to be that the real mechanism of SYD is "Qi and Yin deficiency", and it will evolve to be "Yin and Yang deficiency","Yin deficiency and Qi descending" and "Yin deficiency and dampness disturbing".The result makes the system of differentiations of internal organs more consummate in theories and directs clinical treatment more sensible in practices.
