Objective To observe the effects of Neuregulin-1βon the retina and on the expression of heat shock protein 70 in rat's retina after ischemia/reperfusion injury.Methods The rat model of experimental retinal ischemial/reperfusion was made by line occlusion.thirty-two wistar rats were divided into normal(1rat),sham-operated group(1 rat),control group,CG(15 rats) and experimental group,EG(15 rats).5μl BSS was injected into vitreous cavity of CG and inject 5μl Neuregulin-1βinto EG as the same way.Retinal hietological changes were observes,the number of RGCs and the leukocyte infiltration in retina were counted and image analysis system was used to detect the thickness of inner retinal layer.The expression of HSP70 was assessed by immunohistochemistry.Results The inner layers of retina of the retina of the EG was thicer than CG.During the early period of reperfusion,the edema of retina was reduced in EG than CG,the number of RGCs of EG was more and the number of leukocyte was less than the CG.The expression of HSP70 redched the peak at 24th,the expression of the EG was relatively obvious more than the CG.Conclusion NRG-1βcould preserve retina after ischemia reperfusion injury;HSP70 has the remedial effect to retinal ischemia/reperfasion ingury and can enhance the expression of HSP70.
