Mt Mechanism Of The Anti-inflammatory Effects Of Moxibustion Treatment Of Experimental Ra In Rats

Objective:To investigate anti-inflammatory effect of moxibustion treatment on the RA rats and to explore melatonin methanism within the anti-inflammatory effect of moxibustion treatment which use 24 hours lighting as disturbed method.Methods:Forty health SD rats(Sprague-Dawley rats) were randomly divided into control group(here in after referred to as "blank"),RA model group(here in after referred to as "model"),moxibustion treatment group(here in after referred to as "moxibustion") and 24 hours lighting and moxibustion group(here in after referred to as" 24 lighting "),each group contain10 rats.To found RA animal models by Freund's Complete Adjuvant(FCA),do moxibustion on "Shenshu(BL23)" and "Zusanli (ST36)" points,using 24 hours lighting(2501x) as disturbed method.To calculate foot swelling degree of RA rats,to determinate IL-1β,IL-4 in plasma and MT in serum by ELISA,to detect NF-kBp65 and MELIB by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. Result:For the amount of IL-1β,IL-4,IL-1β/IL-4,MT,NF-kBp65,MEL1B and swelling degree,model group were obviously increased than normal group(P＜0.05);for the amount of IL-1β,IL-1β/IL-4,MT,NF-kBp65,MEL1B and swelling degree,moxia group were obviously decreased than model group(P＜0.05);for the amount of MT and MEL1B,24 hours lighting group were obviously decreased than moxia group,for the amount of IL-4 and NF-kBp65,24 hours lighting group were obviously increased than moxia group(P＜0.05),for the amount of IL-1β,IL-1β/IL-4 and swelling degree, 24 hours lighting group and moxia group have no significant difference (P＞0.05).Conelusion:Moxibustion not only can improve the swelling symptoms of RA,but also have directly anti-inflammatory effect with RA;Melatonin may have opposite effect to the moxibustion though decreased the amount of IL-4 and disturbed IL-1β/IL-4 balance;moxibustion may have anti-inflammatory effect though decreased MEL1B,MT and increased IL-4,IL-1β/IL-4;Moxibustion treatment can have directly anti-inflammatory effect though inhabit NF-kB and adjust Th1/ Th2 balance.
