ObjectiveTo study the correlation of osteoporosis (OP) and osteoarthritis (OA).MethodsUse of cross-sectional survey research.Ninety six cases of OA were enrolled in this study. The age,Body Mass Index (BMI),Indices of severity in osteoarthritis,Bone Mineral Density (BMD) were determined and X-ray was performed on lumbar spine and knee for all subjects. BMD based on the change will only 96 patients were divided into groups and osteoarthritis osteoarthritis with osteoporosis group. Comparing the two groups of patients with age, sex, BMI, Lequesne index and the distribution of TCM Syndrome. The data were analyzed using SPSS software.ResultsThe relationship of KOA syndrome in the lumbar spine BMD: Lack of liver and kidney, Jinmai stasis>Liver and kidney deficiency, phlegm and blood stasis reference to resistance>Spleen and kidney deficiency, wetlands Note joints. Between the syndrome does not exist significant differences, P>0.05. The relationship of KOA syndrome in the left hip BMD: Spleen and kidney deficiency, wetlands Note joints>Liver and kidney deficiency, phlegm and blood stasis reference to resistance>Lack of liver and kidney, Jinmai stasis. Between the syndrome exist significant differences, P>0.05. KOA associated with the age of OP is not associated with significantly higher than the KOA in OP. KOA with the OP patients with and without the OP patients in the KOA there is no significant gender differences. KOA with the weight of the OP is not associated with significantly less than the KOA in OP. KOA with the OP patients with body mass index is not associated with significantly less than the KOA in OP. Lequesne index and the lumbar spine BMD there is no significant difference. Lequesne index and the left hip BMD there is no significant difference. Exclude weight, BMI impact analysis, KL grade and left hip BMD there is no significant difference. The Spearman rank correlation analysis, KL grade and left hip BMD no obvious correlation. KOA with the OP patients with and without the OP the KOA in patients with syndrome of Chinese medicine on the existence of significant differences.ConclusionsKnee osteoarthritis and osteoporosis showed a negative correlation and In age, weight, BMI there are significant differences. In TCM, KOA with the OP patients are lack of liver and kidney&Jinmai stasis; KOA without the OP patients are spleen and kidney deficiency, wetlands Note joints.
