Ditan Decoction For Treatment Of Children With Tic Disorders, 30 Cases

Tic disorder (TD) is one kind of chronic psychiatric diseases with the onset of childhood, and involuntary sudden, rapid, repetitive, non-rhythm, a single or multiple muscle movements or audible. In the general population in the incidence rate is unknown, but it has increased significantly in recent years.In this paper, some summaries have been done about the etiology and treatment of TD on both modern medicine and Chinese medicine and so is the application of Ditan decoction.The research is based on certain clinical experience that is to treat TD from "phlegm" and "Stasis", with the Ditan decoction. Objection: To observe the Ditan decoction of the clinical efficacy on tic disorder. Method: before and after treatment, 30 patients was scoring with in a tic quantitative score, and score it again after three months'medication, SAS8.01 was conducted to do comparison before and after the treatment. Reducing scoring-rate = [(scoring Scale before treatment - scoring Scale after treatment) / Scale score before treatment]×100%. The ranking level for treatment effect shows as following, cure: the scoring rate more than 95 percent; obviously effective: the scoring rate is from 60% to 94% marked effect: the scoring rate is from 30% to 59%; ineffective: the scoring rate is below 30 percent. Results: paired T test and rank sum test were applied before and after treatment for dates and, with obvious difference (P <0.05). 6 cases were cured, six cases was obviously effective, 10 cases were effecitve,8 cases ineffective, with the exception of two cases, the rate of progress are more than 12.5%, and did not have any adverse reaction. Conclusion: Ditan Decoction is an effective treatment for tic disorder, which pertains to TCM therapies and avoids the side effects of western medication, which are accepted easily by Children and their parents.
