Diagnosis And Treatment Of Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Object:To summarize the clinical experience of diagnosis and treatment for 5 patients with malignant peritoneal mesothelioma.Methods:The clinical data of 5 patients with malignant peritoneal mesothelioma were retrospectively analyze.Results:The main symptoms of malignant peritoneal mesothelioma were abdominal distension and abdominal dropsy in this patients.1 patient examined by abdominoscopy,3 patients examined by exploratory laparotomy,and all of them received final pathematology diagnosis.3 cases treated by tumor debulking,1 case combine systemically chemotherapy and intraperitoneal chemotherapy,1 case combine intraperitoneal chemotherapy.Conclusions:malignant peritoneal mesothelioma is difficult to be definitely diagnosed basing on the clinical manifestation and the supplementary examination;to be definitely diagnosed malignant peritoneal mesothelioma must depend on biopsy of peritoneum and abdominoscopy.The prognosis of malignant peritoneal mesothelioma is bad,and in clinical,tumor debulking and excising is main treating method and chemotherapy and radiotherapy are supplementary.
