ObjectiveObserving the curative effect of the traditional Chinese herb medicine Qinggantang on hyperthyroidism (GD) and through clinical experiments, probing the medicinism and the impact of Qinggantang on the related indexs of hyperthyroidism patients. It will provide credible theory for clinical use.Methods1 Clinical data: All the patients come from province Wuhan City, Hubei the first people hospital from April, 2004 to Octorber, 2005, to averagely randomize sixty patients to treatment group and comparison group, treatment group have thirty patients and comparison group have thirty patients.2 The medical method:The patients in treatment group take orally tapazole 10mg dose each time, t. i. d ,at same time take qinggantang 1 dose, 150ml each time, bid.,one period of treatment is one month, therapy three month continually. The patients in comparision group take orally tapazole 10mgeach time, t. i.d .One period of treatment is one month, after symptom relieving decrease thedose of tapazole In the period, Two patients takes a rest all and well, avoiding the spirit incitement, well nourishment, avoid taking a meal to contain iodine medicine and mordacious foods, avoid the alcohol, smoking, strong tea with coffee.3 The curative effect3.1 Clinical main related symptom: To observe the Chinese medicine Symptom every two weeks and record it.3.2 The clinical related objective sign: To observer the ch-ange of objective sign every two weeks and record it. 3. 3 Laboratory test indexs of FT₃, FT₄, and TSH were observed each months before experimenting and after it every 4 weeks and record it. TGAb and TPOAb on patients were observed before and after the treatment and made a statistical disposal.4 The badness and the side- effect:4.1 Laboratory examinationand: Blood route, urine route, stool r-oute, liver kidney function, electrocardiogram, are observed. B-lood route checks every week. The liver kidney function chec-ks every 4 weeks.4.2 Side-effect or toxicity:To observe if sufferer has any bad feeling after taking this medicine, and judge if the Qinggantang had any side-effect or toxicity combining the check of the three normal regulationses, livers kidney function.5 The statistics method:To analyze the data with the SPSS13. 0. The count materials are examined with X², the measuring materials are examined with t-test and the grade materials with Ridit analyzes.Result1 The clinical curative effective : The treated group's total effective rate 96. 67%, with stat. analysis is better than that of the contrast group, 86.67%2 Comparing between two groups the results show that:all the symptoms in the treated group improve better than those in the control group, especially of dysphoria, fatigue, eye signs and insomnia ,P＜0. 01.3 After treatment the two groups had better results of the concerning serum levels of FT₃, FT₄, and TSH than before treatment, When the treated group compared with the contrast group the differences were not significant, P＞0. 05. 4 Comparing the concerning physical signs in Graves ophthalmopathy and volume of thyroid with t-test, there were not significant differences of the contrast group before and after therapy, P＞0. 05. The situation of the treatment group were just on the contrary, P＜0. 01. When making comparision of the groups after the treatment, the differences were enormously significant, P＜0. 01.5 The immunity indexs of the contrast group after treatment were not better than that of before treatment, while the indexs of the treatment group were better. When making comparision of the immunity index between the group after the treatment, there were enormously significant differences, P＜0. 01.6 The adverse effects of the treatment group were evidently less than the contrast group, P＜0. 01.ConclusionQinggantang with tapazole has a costant effect on hyperthyrodism in clinical practice: it can relieve the symptoms and improve physical signs and immunity indexs of hyperthyrodism patients. It can not effect the blood-routine, lever function and kidney function. It is a kind of safe medicine. It can educe the preponderance of traditional Chinese medicine and be worth generalizing to clinical use.
