Sweet clover is an annual or biennial herbs of Melilotus Mill. ofleguminosae. It has a long history used as a good green manure and fodder,but has relatively few studies as herbs, which is contained in "TheEuropean Pharmacopoeia (2005 version) "and China's "Ministerialstandards", "Sitsang medicine standards" and "Shanghai medicinestandards" The successful empolder and better market performance ofcommodity named "Melilotus Extract Tablets" bring a good prospects forthe investigation of Sweet clover herbs.The article processes correlative studies about yellow sweet cloverusing modern techniques and means, which puts a good foundation for thefuture empolder to a new drugs related to valid part of material.1,The establishment and analysis of fingerprintIn the study, we had investigated the preparation methods of sample(including the selection of extraction solvent and extraction methods)and system conditions of chromatography (including the selection ofelution conditions and detection wavelength), established HPLCfingerprints of different medicinal parts and plants with differentharvest season, we identified seven characteristics-fingerprints throughthe analysis of total peaks of the fingerprints, comparied there contentdifferences in different parts and different harvest season, andappraised these fingerprints's similarity throng application of NationalFormulary Committee chromatographic fingerprint evaluation system (2004Aversion). The results show that these herbs of different part anddifferent harvest season have basically the same componet buildup butdifferent componet content. All these studies make a good reference forthe controllment of this herb.2,The preparation study of total coumarinsThe preparation process of total coumarins including the extraction process, purification process and concentration and drying process.Adopting methods of combination single factor experiment and orthogonalexperiment, with appraised guidelines of coumarin content, dry-creamyield and coumarin purity in dry-cream,we studied factors which influencethe coumarin extraction efficiency, screened out the optimum extractiontechnology. To select the optimum purification process of sweet cloverextracton with macroporous resin, we studied the resin models, the typeand dosage of impurity removal solvent and eluting solvent, and tookorthogonal experiment to optimize the three factors of chemicalsconcentration, the ratio of diameter and height of the chromatographycolumn, the weight ratio of raw material and resins used adsorptioncapacity for evaluation. Finally we investigated the temperature ofconcentration and drying process.3,The study of quality standardsWe had done qualitative analysis with TLC and quantitative analysiswith HPLC for the component of coumarin in sweet clover herbs and theextraction, quality standard draft was established preparatory.
