Objective:To study the expression of Survivin cyclooxgenase-2 (COX-2) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in normal breast epithelia benign breast disease and breast cancer and their relationship.Method: Normal breast epithelia (n=10), benign breast disease (n=45) and Breast cancer (n=60) were analyzed for Survivin, COX-2 and bFGF expression by immunohistochemistry technique. Results: Survivin was expressed in 73.33% in breast cancer. COX-2 was expressed in 53.3% in breast cancer. bFGF was 41.7% in breast cancer. They were significantly different from the expression in benign breast disease(p<0.05). Survivin, COX-2 and bFGF expression were correlated with lymph mode metastasis (p<0.05) .Conclusion: The expression of Survivin and COX-2 in breast cancer are higher than those in normal breast epithelia and benign breast disease . The expression of bFGF in breast cancer is higher than that in benign breast disease . The expression of Survivin COX-2 and bFGF in breast cancer is correlated with lymph mode metastasis.
