Objective:To detect the expression of Cox-2 and CD44 in lung cancer and normal lung tissues and analytic the result's relationship with patient's clinical characteristics and prognosis. Methods: Expression of Cox-2 and CD44 was detected in 100 cases of lung cancer tissues and 20 cases normal lung tissues by immunohistochemistry assay. Results: 1.The positive expression rates of Cox-2 and CD44 in NSCLC tissues were 73% and 50% respectively. 2.The expression of Cox-2 and CD44 in NSCLC tissues was associated with lymph node's metastasis closelyï¹™P<0.01), but not with gender, age, histologic subtype(P>0.05). 3.Univariate analyses demonstrated that the survival rate of the 94 NSCLC patients was significantly affected by such prognosis factor as p-TMN stages, Cox-2 and CD44 statusï¹™P<0.01).Conclusion: The expression of Cox-2 and CD44 in NSCLC and SCLC was different(P<0.01). p-TMN, Cox-2 and CD44 status are the three independent predictors of NSCLC patients. The prognosis of the patients with Cox-2 and/or CD44 positive expressed are poor.
