Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the usage of both herbs and acupuncture to treat the side-effect of the continuous injection of mouphine.Methods:To observe the rate of the side-effect due to the continuous injection of morphine, which have taken the place of taking morphine orally, for itwasdifficult. Andtoobserve the treatment effect of the application of both herbs and acupuncture.Rusults:27 cases were injected morphine continuously to treat the pain of cancer, the rate of the side-effect was: conspitation in 14 cases(51.9%): nausea, vomitting in 8 cases(40.7%): urinary retention in 8 cases (29.6%); unconsciousness in 4 cases(15%); noappearance of serious expiration inhibition: after injected morphine continously, then reduced the dose gradually, and stopped the injection of morphine ultimately, 2 cases emerged no drug dependence.。Conclusion:The usage of both herbs and acupuncture can control constipation, nausea and vomitting due to the continuous injection of morphine: can reduce the rate of indwelling catheterization when the urinary retention happened: can increase the compliance of the application of morphine to cure pain, also can improve the life quality of thepatients...
