By modern technologies of extraction, isolation, purification, identification, 7 compounds were isolated from the seeds of Trigonella foenum-graecum L. in this research. The structures of 4 compounds have been established and identified on the basis of physico-chemical and spectrographic evidence. They were diosgenin daucosterine,stearic acid,β-sitosterol. The contents of total Flavonoids,Saponins,polycoses were determined by Chromatometry. The contents of total Flavonoids,Saponins,polycoses were 3.26%,16.89%, 29.9% in the extractions of Fenugreek seeds respectively. The models of diabetic mellitus were established by ig glucose and alloxan in mice. Glucose oxidase method wasused to measure blood glucose content. FSE had no significant effects on blood glucose levels of normal mice. After ig. glucose for 30 min and alloxan for 72h, the blood glucose content was significantly higher than that of the control group. FSE had better hypoglycemic activity in diabetes mice.
