Chinese Medicine Clinical Research, With The Foot Bath Treatment Of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

The thesis consists two parts: the literature review and the clinical research.There are 2 parts of the literature review. The first one introduces the treatment progress of TCM in DPN in recent 10 years. It includes the pathogens and pathogenesis,the treatments applying with the pattern identification,the special treatments of herbs, the treatments of Chinese prepared medicine,the traditional Chinese drugs of injection, the herbs immersing ,the treatment of acupuncture and so on.The second one is about the elementary and clinical research progress of the disease in recent years. It includes the cause research and treatment method.The cause of diabetic peripheral neurophathy(DPN) has not clearly expounded yet today.There are many medicine used in clinic, but the curative effect is not so good,especially in the serious patients.The clinical research is about the research of efficacy for treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy DPN) with Tangluoning and foot balneum on 60 DPN patients conforming to the diagnostic criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group(30 patients)and the control group(30 patients).At the same time of foundation treatment,the treatment group was given Tangluoning(for benefiting qi and nourishing yin, tonifying the liver and kidney,and activating blood circulation) and foot balneum.The control group is given the methycobal(mecobalamin).The changes in the symptoms, nerve conductive velocity and amplitude were observed in the patients.The results showed that the total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.3% and that of control group was 60.0% . By the Ridit test,the effect of treatment group was better than the control group, the difference was very significant(P<0.05).And the results also showed that the treatment group and the control group had obviously difference in symptoms of the limbs,pain, weakened ankle reflex,improveing the nerve conductive velocity and amplitude.There were no obvious side effects found during the treatment.The study showed that Tangluoning and foot balneum had significant effect for the DPN,better than methycobal.
