This thesis includes literature survey and clinical study. The literature survey includes two parts. A large number of documents about Psoriasis(Ps) are collected and analyzed in both parts. The first part is about the overview of pathogenesis and syndrome differentiation-based treatment of Ps in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM). The second part is about the research and treatment progress of Ps in modern medicine. The clinical study mainly discusses the rule of distribution, composition characteristic and development of TCM syndromes of Ps through the epidemiology investigation into 205 Ps vulgaris patients and the tracks of treatment to 80 Ps vulgaris patients. At the same time, professor Qu Xing's clinical experiences are summarized. The accuracy and effectiveness of syndrome differentiation-based treatment are further confirmd by the observation of the therapeutic efficacy. The result shows that the main TCM syndromes of Ps are blood heat, blood stasis, blood dryness, blood heat-stasis, blood heat-dryness and blood stasis-dryness. These six syndromes reflect the development of TCM syndromes precisely.Blood heat-stasis syndrome, blood heat syndrome and blood heat-dryness syndrome account 90.2% in total. It indicates blood heat is the main pathogenesis of Ps. The six main syndromes of Ps are phasic syndromes. They are unable to be separated clearly. Usually, blood heat syndrome is in the initial stage of Ps. As time goes on, blood heat syndrome changes to be blood heat-stasis syndrome or blood heat-dryness syndrome or blood stasis syndrome or blood dryness syndrome or blood stasis-dryness syndrome. Every syndrome can be changed to recovery through treatment.Syndrome differentiation by rash is the main determining factor of syndrome differentiation of Ps. But the whole body symptoms should not be neglected. The individual treatment is the superiority of syndrome differentiation-based treatment.Professor Qu Xing's clinical experiences are summarized. The ratio of total effectiveness(recovery + excellence) is 63.8%.
