His proved recipe "Yi Qi Zhu Jing Ke Li" (YQZJKL) based on the theory of Mengshi micro differential diagnosis and "tonifying both qi and yin" is very effective.This thesis had summarized and researches on both clinic and the theories1 Firstly, this topic made a systematic review in cultural heritage related both in traditional Chinese and western medicine about male sterility and male sterility due to asthenospermia. It made a detailed description in etiology, pathology, principle of treatment, therapeutic method, special prescription based on differential diagnosis in TCM; and etiology, pathology, laboratory examination, molecular biology development and drugs in western medicine. Through the review in cultural heritage, it made a further understanding about the etiology, treatment, origin and present development of male sterility and male sterility due to asthenospermia, and fully recognized and established the necessity of research on male sterility due to asthenospermia.2 The results of clinic observation on semen quantity of 67 patients with male sterility before and after the treatment shows: improvement of different degree of semen quantity, obvious improvement in sperm vitality ; 14 cases, cured (20.90%); 23 cases, obvious effective(34.33%); 22 cases, effective (32.84%) ; 8 cases, no avail (11.94%); the total efficient rate is 88.06%.By comparing each index sign of sperm before and after the clinical treatment, it suggests that YQZJKL is very effective in improving sperm density, sperm vitality rate, sperm vitality; the effect is not obvious in influencing the quantity of sperm, the time of liquefaction of sperm liquid and sperm glycosidase; no severe side effects.3 With the theoretical discussion and clinical research, it preliminary discussed the mechanism in treating asthenospermia, and l)qi is the basic power in sperm movement; 2)" yang can transform qi" is the theoretical foundation in treating asthenospermia;3) tonification in both congenital and postnatal is the key point; 4) tonifying spleen and invigorate kidney is the main method in treating asthenospermia.
