[Background] Arrhythmia is a clinical familiar disease, not only be seen in the patient of the cardiovascular disease, but also in the patient of many other diseases and few health people. There are different categories of arrhythmia and the state of illness is different degree. The gentle degree has no harm to health. But when the sever degree has effect on blood stream dynamics patient will appear clinical symptom and so much as in danger of sudden death. So it is important to properly and homely understand arrhythmia and treat it in a rational way. At present there are may methods in clinic , including drug , radiofrequency and pacemaker therapy, but they are have some restricts. TCM shows favorable clinic effect on part of tachyarrhythmia. This research bone professor Chen's clinical experience with arrhythmia theory of modern medicine and use TCM to determine the treatment based on differentiation of symptoms and signs of part of tachyarrhythmia.[Purpose] Summarize common TCM types of symptom of arrhythmia; To treat all types of symptom of arrhythmia based on professor Chen's empirical prescription and provide invariably instruction to the treatment of TCM types of symptom of arrhythmia through authentication of clinical effect.[Methods]This research uses the method of random comparison. Observed tachyarrhythmia patients are divided into two groups by random (the modern medicine treatment group and the TCM treatment group). One course of treatment is 4 weeks. The modern medicine treatment group are used propafenone q8h. The TCM treatment group are used correspondent Chinese crude drug 2 doses/day according to different types of syndrome on the basis of differentiation of symptoms and signs for classification of syndrome. Observe the changes of TCM symptoms, coated tongue, pulse tracings and time, frequency, degree, duration of arrhythmia attack.[Result] At the side of total curative effect, the total effective rate are 46.7% and obvious effective rate are 86.7% in the modern medicine treatment group, while the total effective rate are 43.3% and obvious effective rate are 83.3% in the TCM treatment group.
