Objectives: To discuss the signal intensity and anisotropy of different structures of normal adult brain.Materials and Methods: 20 normal adults were examined by diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) . Observing the signal features of different brain structures on both ADC and FA maps and analyzing the anisotropic features statistically. Results: No significant difference was found in the same region of interest (ROI) between male and female(P>0.05). For the symmetric structures, ADCav or FA value between the right side and the left side of same ROIs had no significant difference(P>0.05). Cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) in the lateral ventricle body appeared to be obviously high signal on ADCav map, and the rest brain tissues demonstrated grey shadows with different gray levels, but not so distinctly. Significant difference was found between CSF and other ROIs according to ADCav values(P<0.05). ADCav values displayed no significant difference among other ROIs(P>0.05).
