Objective: to explore the hemostatic action mechanism of bai xian pi(Cortex Dictamna Radicis) in experimental way and provide objective experimental basis for its clinical application.Methods: effects of bai xian pi on rats bleeding time, bleeding quantity, CT and vasoconstriction action are determined by mice tail breaking test, tube way, LG-PABER blood coagulation factor analysis instrument test, and its effects on APTT, PT, TT, FIB partly revealed its hemostatic action mechanism.Results: 1.Baixianpi could obviously reduce bleeding time and decrease bleeding quantity. 2. Baixianpi could shorten CT of mice. 3. Baixianpi could dwindle caliber of micro-artery and micro-vein of rat mesentery. 4. Baixianpi could shorten CT, APTT, TT and significantly prolong FIB time so as to stop bleeding.Conclusions: Hemostatic actions include three important factors: blood agglutination, aggregation of platelets and blood vessel contraction. Baixianpi could reduce bleeding time and CT, decrease bleeding quantity. Quantity and function of blood coagulation factor influence CT. Bleeding time is related to capillary function, tissue factor, quantity and function of platelet, fiber dissolution and so on. Hemostatic action of baixianpi was proved in light of above explanations. Baixianpi could dwindle caliber of micro-artery and micro-vein of rat mesentery, and partly influence function of micro-vessel constriction, which proved that that it could contract blood vessels to stop bleeding. Moreover baixianpi could shorten APTT, TT and PT, increase FIB quantity. APTT is the index for checking intrinsic coagulation approach. PT is for extrinsic coagulation. TT is for fibrinolytic function. FIB is a macromolecule weight glycoprotein synthesized by liver. Hemostatic function is ensured when certain concentration FIB in the blood plasma is achieved. According to indexes above, the action of baixianpi to cause blood agglutinatioin in hemostatic link is verified.
