. Prevention by regulating the liver is systematically analyzed in this article. TCM pays great attention to prevention, including the preventive measures before the occurrence of disease, preventing transmission and changes, and prevention of the recrudescence of disease. The liver serves as the center of qi and blood regulation in human body, while details about how to preventing diseases from the liver are scarce. Actually, other factors that influence health and disease, such as constitutional changes from life-style and environment, and the correlations among the sub-health state, fatigue and senescence and the liver, prove the necessity of prevention by regulating the liver. Based on the principles of TCM prevention, specific and practical measures are emphasized as follows:(l) health education on sound life style;(2)the methods on preventing common ailments such as hepar adiposum, hepatitis, and chronic fatigue syndrome;(3)adjustment of qi-stagnant, blood-stagnant, and blood-deficient constitutions;(4)treating other diseases from the liver, such as diabetes.
