Postpartum Depression In Western Progress

Postpartum depression is a kind of postpartum mental disorder diseases, recently both in China and abroad the research generally discusses the disease incidence, inducing factor, etiologic factor and pathogenesis, also includes many other aspects such as treatment and prevention. Postpartum depression not only damages the physical and psychological health of parturient but also is a dangerous factor influencing the baby' s development. This article respectively summarized the research about postpartum depression in recent 10 years both in TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine) and western medicine, aimed at achieving advantage complementation of TCM and western medicine, improving the diagnosis and clinical therapeutic effectiveness of postpartum depression, alleviating influence to physical and psychological health of parturient, decreasing the mortality of newborn.This article included three parts: The first one was literature review, summarized the etiologic factors and pathogenesis, historical evolution and therapeutic development of postpartum depression.
