Rotating Hinge With A Simple Hinged Knee Tumor Prosthesis Replacement Clinical Study

Object:To investigate and compare the effect after the resection of tumor round the knee and knee joint reconstruction using the two prosthesises.Methods:Of 72 patients with tumor round the knee,un-interviewable in 9 cases.In the rest 63 cases,their were 33 cases of male,30 cases of female,from 15 years to 58 years, average : 26.6±10.7 years. their were 34 cases of osteosarcoma ,21 cases of fiant cell tumor of bone,5 cases of malignant fibrous histiocytoma(MFH),2 case of chondrosarcoma,1 of angiosarcoma.forty knees in 4 0 patients underwent total knee replacement using hinge-knee systerm(group A ) .twenty three knees in 23 patients underwent total knee replacement using rotating knee systerm.(group B).The average followup of 63 patients was 3 years and 9 months,the evaluation on MSTS functional scores, ambulation scores,flexion-extension-angle, knee rotation and infection,recrudesce, metastasis(death) and operative time.Results: In group A,there were 5 cases of recrudesce,3 cases of metastasis/death(all cases were osteosarcoma). 2 case of infection, In group B, there were 3 cases of recrudesce,2 cases of metastasis/death(one case was MFH,the other were osteosarcoma) ,2 case of infection .no prosthesis flexible in both groups,but 1 case in B group got polyethylene bush of rotating axis fracture and dislocation,there was no syndrome after changing fittings.The operative time between two groups have no significant difference (p >0.05).
