Objective: To observe the function and the possible mechanism of Tongluotangtai Poly-pharmaceutical on how to regulate and influence the experimental DPN rats' PAI-1 level.Methods: Select SD rats to create the models through injecting alloxan saline (2%, 120mg/kg) into abdominal cavity every other day. According to different blood glucose levels, all the rats are randomly divided into five groups, including Tongluotangtai Poly-pharmaceutical (high-dosage)group, Tongluotangtai Poly-pharmaceutical (low-dosage) group, west medicine group, blank group and normal group. And each group use accordant treatment. After 12 weeks we check the rats' weight, FPG, GSP, NCV(Nerve conduction velocity), PAI-1 level. Then finally we analyze the experiment results and discuss the possible mechanism of how Tongluotangtai Poly-pharmaceutical works. Results: 1. Tongluotangtai Poly-pharmaceutical has positive functions to regulate the blood glucose, while in large-dosage group this function is not so evident in reducing rats' weight. 2. Tongluotangtai Poly-pharmaceutical can lower down the level of both GSP and PAI-1, revealing possible functions in resisting inflammation and stagnation. Conclusion: Tongluotangtai Poly-pharmaceutical has positive functions to control the blood glucose. It can also slow down the development of the disease by reducing the PAI-1 level. This indicates that the Tongluotangtai Poly-pharmaceutical may have certain effect in preventing the diabetic blood-vessel complications. Results show that the comprehensive effect of treatment group is better than that of control group. |
