Chronic renal failure (CRF) refers to the syndromes resulting from decreased renal function at the late stage of various types of chronic kidney diseases. The teacher Zhao interpreted that the pathogenic feature of the disease is characterized by deficiency of healthy qi and excess of pathogenic factors. The impaired organs are the spleen and kidneys, often involving other organs. Mr Zhao suggests that the key of clinic should grasp the feature of pathogenesis of disease' s different phrase, specifically discriminate insufficiency and excessiveness, the incidental and the fundamental, adopt the method of in non-acute cases treat the root of the disease, in emergency cases treat the acute symptoms: strengthening healthy qi and eliminating pathogenic factors, simultaneous application of purgation and tonification. According to the clinical manifestation of CRF divided into the principal dif iciency syndrome 5 types and the secondary excess syndrome 4 types to take treatment based on syndrome differentiation, assisting by Chinese medicine retention enema, and by means of regulating psychological state, diet and living habit as well as doing physical exercise, prevention and cure in combination, getting better clinical effect.
