Objective Multidrug resistance can eventually result in the chemotherapy failure of acute leukemia. Through examinations of P - glycoprotein (P - gp),Anti - apoptosis factor 2 (Bcl-2),Lung resistance protein (LRP) ,so as to show: relations between protein expression and complete remission (CR); whether there may be significant differences of protein expression between normal donors and the previously untreated patients; High white blood cell (WBC) counts of peripheral blood beared relationship with the high expression of drug resisrance protein. Methods By using immunohistochemistry method to reveal expression of Pgp,Bcl-2,LRP. If positive cell of Pgp,Bcl - 2≥10% , or LRP≥15% , difinated positive (+). By SPSS 10.0 , X2 analysis linear correlation analysis were used to analyze stasisti-cal results. Results Positive expressions of multidrug resistance proteins, whose CR rates were lower than negative expressions' (P<0.05). CR rates in sufferers with co - expression of Pgp and Bcl - 2, were significantly lower than patients with one kind of protein expression along(P<0. 01), moreover there was the correlation of expression between Pgp and Bcl- 2. Expressions of three drug resistance proteins were significant differences between normal donors and previously untreated patients(P<0. 01). LRP expression increased obviously when WBC counts≥ 10 ×10~9/L(P<0.05). Conclusion Drug resistance proteins expressions may account for poor prognosis . There were relations between them and clinical chemotherapy resistance. Co - examination of Pgp and Bcl - 2 had greater significance than examination of one kind of protein in accessing poor prognosis of leukemia patients. As for assessing drug resistance and prognosis of leukemia patients whose peripheral blood WBC counts were high, LRP had great judging value.
