Hyperplasia of mammary gland is a benign hyperplasic disease. It is the most common hyperplasic disease. Its incidence in women who are in childbearing period is about 47%,and is about 75% in all hyperplasic disease. It happened to married women between thirty to forty-five years old. The incidence of this disease shows a rising trend in recent years. Main symptoms for hyperplasia of mammary gland include mammary swelling,mammary pain and nipple discharge.In Chinese medicine hyperplasia of mammary gland belongs to the category of"rupi".Yujinrupi Granule is a clinical experience prescription for hyperplasia of mammary gland. It's effected on staguation of the liver-qi and phlegm stagnancy. Chaihu and yujin can promote flow of qi and kaiyu and can reduce phlegm and resolve masses. Qingpi,xiangfu,gualou,danggui can promote flow and reduce phlegm,and can remove obstruction and relieve pain. Yanhusuo,chenpi,chuanshan jia,shancigu,ezhu,zhebeimu not only emphas on the effects of soothing the liver and promoting blood circulation,removing obstruction and relieving pain,but also have more effects on mammary swelling and its pain.Gancao invigorate the spleen and replenish qi and coordinate the action of vaious ingredient in a prescription. We also included in this review the theraputic strategy on this disease.2 Experimental studyExperimental hyperplasia of mammary gland rats was induced by injection of estradiol benzoke and progesterone to the animal continuously for 30days. The result shows that the serum E2 level in the hormones treated animal is much higher than that of the vehicle treated animal, while the P is much lower than that of the vehicle treated. The same time the hormones treated animals showed more diffuse and small lobes of mammary glands, also 1ess fat and connective tissue among the lobes.
