Abstract/Summary:
Objective:To study the significance of the expression of Bcl-2, Bax andCaspase-3 protein in osteosarcoma, and discuss the function of Bcl-2, Bax andCaspase-3 gene in the occurrence and development of human osteosarcoma.Methods:30 cases of osteosarcoma and 20 cases of osteochondroma have beenexamined with the method of S-P immunohistochemical staining. And all dateswere dealt with soft ware SPSS 11.0 to analysis the expression significance andthe relationship of the parameters.Resaults :1.The positive expression rate of Bcl-2, Bax and Caspase-3 protein inosteosarcoma was respectively 73.3%,90.0%,86.7% . There ware prominentdifferences between osteosarcoma and osteochondroma groups.2.The expression rate of Bcl-2, Bax and Caspase-3 protein have no significantdifference among osteosarcoma Ennecking gradeⅠto grade Ⅲ respectively.3.In osteosarcoma group, the expression of Bax was positively correlated withthe expression of Caspase-3 (γs=+0.365, P<0.05 ) , and there were nocorrelation of the expression rate between Bcl-2 and Caspase-3, Bax andCaspase-3 (P>0.05 ).Conclusion:The occurrence and development of human osteosarcoma wascorrelated with the dysfunction of apoptosis. And Bcl-2 and Caspase-3 geneplay a role in it partly. S-P immunohistochemical staining has a highersensitivity. And the expression of Bcl-2, Bax and Caspase-3 protein can not bethe criteria of the malignant degree and prognosis of osteosarcoma.
