The cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, thrombosis, myocardial infraction, hypertension, coronary heart disease relate to blood flow in the artery tightly. We can research the hemodynamics problem deeply to understand their pathologies. In this dissertation, the hemodynamics in the artery and the process of thrombosis is analyzed with numerical simulation method. First of all, mechanical model is established. The blood flow in the artery is carried out by computational fluid dynamics method. The numerical results are shown with scientific visualization method.By means of finite element method, we simulate three-dimensional flows through a normal and a moderately stenosed human artery . Simulation results show that the blood flow in the normal vessel is laminar flow, and the velocities are different in every stratum, and the velocities are faster in the center and slow down towards the vessel wall. In the field where the vessel is narrowed, the dominant flow is high speed laminar flow, and the speed is accelerated with the reducing of the vessel diameter. In result, these changes cause to worsen the disease. We can realize the genesis of thrombosis better by the research.
