The nineteen medicaments of mutual is one of the important pharmacology theories, which Clinical doctors often mention in the same breath with the theory of theeighteen incompatible medicaments. However, the controversy on the incompatibilityis still up in the air, for the dark mechanism , lack of herbs literature and scientificproof, and many talks of its origin. This make it difficult for the teaching and clinicalapplication. The compatibility of Ginseng and Trogopterus Dung is the common pairin clinical appliance .Further researching and exploring the true meaning of the tenpairs is crucial to providing theory base to clinical appliance .This article includeliterature review, investigation on literature of herbs and experiment on thecompatibility of Ginseng and Trogopterus Dung. In the first part ,the review includes the precedential researchs on the literatureand experiment of the ten pairs , Gi nseng's effect on central nervous system andaction of fighting against senium, the ancient and modern research on TrogopterusDung and the aging mechanism. In the second part :1.make a detailed investigation on the origin of mutualinbitition after compatibility .It shows that the content and verses are all originatedfrom Ming dynasty and has no direct connection with herbs recorded before Mingdynasty.Instead they are enrolled into herb books after the existence ofverses.2.investigate the meaning of "fear",it is thought that in ancient herb books"fear"refer not only the inhibition on toxicity, but also on non-toxicity,then researchthe seven emotions of ten pairs recorded in herb books .The results shows that the tenpairs not only include the mutual inhibiton, but also contain the mutual inhibition, toxicity and incompatibility as a whole in seven emotions. In a conclusion,we cannotrefer the mutual inbihition as incompatibility. We should analyse the real situation, forsome pairs are applicable.3.The most often used compatibility of Ginseng andTrogopterus Dung is statistically analysed and then lay the foundation of properclinical appliance and the next stage of experiment . In the third part, experiment research consist of chemistry and pharmacologyexperiment.TLC(thin layer chromatography),ULC(ultraviolet layer chromatographyand HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography)are used to measure theingredient changes after the compatibility of Ginseng and Trogopterus Dung.It showsthat the availability of the Ginseng is depressed after the compatibility. In the pharmacology experiment drosophila longevity ,mouse behavior study andbiochemical criterion are implemented to investigate the change of effect in fightingagainst senium and promoting intelligence after the compatibility of Ginseng andTrogopterus Dung. T-test and analysis of variance are appied .The result demonstratethat after the compatibility Ginseng has lower effect to some extent on prolonginglongevity, antioxidant activity and promoting inteligence We can make a conclusion that the compatibility of Ginseng and TrogopterusDung in the regular dose range can depress the Ginseng's effect on anti-aging.But thedepression is beneficial when overdose of Ginseng is distributed.,which we canconclude that Ginseng is "restrainted" with Trogopterus. The compatibility whichdepress other's effect is absolutely not incompatibility. In clinical appliance doctorsshould distribute the medicine according to the real situation to obtain idealthearapeutic purpose.
