To research on the dynamic characters indicates our knowledge of a biological progress. Vision research is an important region of modern science. Knowledge of the dynamic information progressing mechanisms underlying visual perception will highly affected our behavior in understanding ourselves and the world, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, imaging processing and bionics. During the pass time, we have taken a lot of experiments of stereoscopic cognition in psychology and physiology and attain some results, include the influence of RDS(Random Dots Stereogram) contrast, brightness, complexity of disparity area and color to the cognition. And at the same time, we first reported that beside the Nl, P2 wave in CEP(Cortical Evoked Potential), there is a probability of existing of another wave, we call N2, and it sees sensitive to disparity depth of RDS.We observed red-blue RDS with red-blue glasses and compared the result to that acquired from nake-eye observation of black-white RDS. Both methods can achieve stereoscopic cognition steadily and clearly. The result suggests that after preparation, both methods can complete the presentation of visual stimuli with singly depth cue.Based on the differential modal disparity detection model and the physiological result of disparity sensitive cells' spatial frequency distribution, we have computed weighted responses of a group of complex cells. The weighted response can coarsely detect the depth information, which has a single-peak response to different stimuli composed of many spatial frequencies. It is consistent with some physiological result but need more research.We also do some work on mechanisms underlying motion detection and try to understand our cognition on time information by visual system. Concentrated on model animal frog's retina, we build mathematical model and simulate using physiological data from literatures. We use simplified inter-mediate cells models but take more emphasis on spatio-temporal interaction of such neurons. The results show that there are different character-detecting element which can detect space and time information solely, and the interaction and spatio-temporal integration can produce the dynamic cognition of moving stimuli.In order to acquire more data on cognition of moving stimuli and to modify our computation model, we design a set of recording and analyzing system for physiological study on model animal frog. The system provided some hardware condition for further research.
