Purpose:To study the CT scan displays and the relationship between the prognosis of the newborn encephalopathy and the developing course of caused by the anoxic and ischemic. Thus to indicates the role of CT scan in the evaluation of HIE prognosis. And provided standard of imageology in clinic diagnosis and trentment, make more science in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of HIE.Methods:Sixty-seven cases of the term newborn babies who were diagnosed to suffer from HIE of various degrees by the clinic and CT scan. And made cerebral CT scan and reexamination, all were precontrast scan. The initial check time was 2-15 days after the birth. The reexamination time was in 3 months with 31 cases, 6 months with 19cases, one year with 11 cases and two years with 12 cases after the birth. Part of the cases carry out several reexaminations at the different stages.Use SOMATO Smile spiral CT to scan thickness and spacing 8 mm. The scanning time will be 2 seconds. The scan images will be 8-10 layers.Results:18 cases were mild HIE. 39 cases were moderate HIE . 10 cases were severe HIE , and in them 6 cases were reversal sign. 42 cases merged cerebral hemorrhage. 9 cases were cerebral hemorrhage of various locations and types. 33 cases were pure subarachnoid hemorrhage.1) White matter of brain with low density focus will be absorbed and dispersed in three months after the birth.2) Comparatively good prognosis of mild HIE. Most cases have no sequelae .The prognosis of severe HIE may be not ideal. Especially theappearance of reversal sign was often accompanied by irreversible sequelae. To the moderate HIE prognosis, there were various prognosis results.3) Bad prognosis of cerebral hemorrhage of various locations and types. The prognosis of the pure subarachnoid hemorrhage can own a relatively good effects.4) Comparatively good prognosis of brain dysplasia. The cerebral softening and atrophy etal caused the sequelae that can not be reversed. It was indicated bad prognosis.5) The bad prognosis of the enlargement of the ventricles of the cerebral. Conclusion:CT scan can definitely find out the location, the area and the damage degree of the HIE pathological changes and also can find out whether hypodensity with cerebral hemorrhage and the hemorrhage types. It has relatively objectiveness and correctness. So CT scan is of great value in the evaluation of the HIE prognosis.
