Gout is a kind of widespread disease for the moment. Because the Chinese traditional medicine for gout's treatment has an advantage over the western medicine, it is significant to develop the instruction of Chinese traditional medicine for gout's clinical treatment. However, there are some deficiencies in the actual instruction of Chinese traditional medicine for gout's clinical treatment. For example, the study of theory is separated from practice and it causes inertia of knowledge. Individual tutorial is not easily carried out. The chance for students to experience all kinds of gout case in clinic is slim. And so on. All these exert negative influence on the instruction.It is a worthy exploratory issue to complement the deficiencies and improve the effect of the actual instruction of Chinese traditional medicine for gout's clinical treatment by employing intelligent CAI system.Based on constructivism learning theory and by applying the technologies of AI, Multimedia, database and so on, this thesis designs and develops an intelligent CAI system to assist the instruction of Chinese traditional medicine for gout's clinical treatment. And the intelligent CAI system has the following characteristics. The system provides a simulative clinical environment for the practice of diagnosis and treatment of gout cases. During the self-directed learning, the students can get timely guidance and help, accurate appraisement, rational advance, and rich learning resources from the system. The whole process of instruction is virtual, practical, and individual.After system test and preliminary practical use, the intelligence and instruction effect of the intelligent CAI system has received warm welcome.
