Objective:To observe the enalapril's effect on Liver-yang hyperactivity typed essential hypertension. Methods:58 patientes with essential hypertension were divided into different types with TCM classification ie: Liver-yang hyperactivity type (30 cases ),and Non-liver-yang hyperactivity type (28 cases ). Every patient was treated with enalapril tablet (5mg twice a day) ,in eight weeks. Results:On antihypertensive therapy, 17 cases have significant effect, 15 cases have the effect,26 cases have no effect, and the total effective rate is 55.17%.In the Non-liver-yang hyperactivity group, they are 3 cases ,5 cases and 20 cases respectively, and the total effective rate is 28.57%.While in the Liver-yang hyperactivity group they are 14 cases, 10 cases and 6 cases respectively, and the total effective rate is 80%.The effective rate of Liver-yang hyperactivity group compared with the total group and the Non-liver-yang hyperactivity group has statistical difference(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusions:Enalapril has obvious therapeutic effect on essential hypertension ,moreover, the therapeutic effect on Liver-yang hyperactivity group is superior to it on Non-liver-yang hyperactivity group. Inferrence:The Liver-yang hyperactivity typed essential hypertension patients maybe belong to renin-depended typc, and enalapril has better therapeutic effect on Liver-yang hyperactivity type.
