Beneficial The Hom Capsule In Treating Liver Depression Impotence Experimental Research

Purpose: To seek the mechanism of YIKANJIAONANG capsule (YKJN) on treating erectile dysfunction of depression of Liver-Qi.Methods: The animal models, made with male mice and rats by repeatedly suspending it upside down in midair, were perfused YKJN into their stomaches with one time per day in successive ten days. The times of male mice licking, capturing and mounting the female mice and the latent period of capture and the prostatic and testicular ponderal indexes of of all mice were measured. The area of Corpora Cavernosa smooth muscle , collagen fiber and Cavernous sinus lacuna of the Corpus Cavernosum of the rats penis and the content of the eNOS expressed in the Corpus Cavernosum of the rats penis, stained with Masson's and immunohistochemistry method respectixely, was measured under the optical microscope with Miass computer configuration image analysis system. At the same time, the hemorheology of the rats was measured.Results: The sexual activities of the middle and high dosage group mice, compared with that of the model group mice, were improved significantly, but that of the low dosage had only a little improving tendency. The prostatic and testicular ponderal indexes of all mice between every group had not any remarkable changes. Compared with the model group, the content of collagen fiber were increased, the smooth muscle fiber decreased, but the area of the cavernous sinus not increased or decreased, the expression of eNOS increased remarkably, the omni-blood viscosity, fibrinogen and erythrocyte aggregation index declined significantly, haematocrit not increased or decreased, in the middle and high dosage groups. And all those marker of the low dosage had only some improving tendency, compared with the model group rats.Conclusions: YKJN can improve the sexual activity ability of the erectile dysfunction of depression of Liver-Qi model animals, the mechanism of which may be related with declining the omni-blood viscosity, anti-hyperplasia of the collagen of penis Corpora Cavernosa and activating the NO-cGMP pathway to regulate the relaxation of penis Corpora Cavernosa smooth muscle.
