"yin And Yang Ball," And The Chinese Mode Of Thinking

This thesis comprehensively studies the Yin and Yang theory of TCM. First, it points out that the Yin and Yang theory is not only essentially philosophical and of the medical sciences, but also has a deep mathematical intension. Second, from the "Taiji-diagram" of Yin and Yang, we shall discuss the evolution of Yin and Yang model, we build a mathematical model of "Yin and Yang sphere-eight programmes". We take up the following ideas:1 ^ Yin and Yang theory contains the intension of philosophy > culture ^ medical science > astronomy and mathematics. The Yin and Yang theory based on ancient natural science have developed rapidly in medical field, in this course, its intension and extension change, and evolve gradually the Yin and Yang of TCM. Although, the Yin and Yang of TCM has the medical characteristics, but the Yin and Yang of TCM and the Yin and Yang of philosophy have the same thinking model.2> In the course of the forming and development of Yin and Yang theory, ancient philosophy > natural science and particularly astronomy illustrate the progressive element. They permeate and promote each other, as time goes on, they developed like the twin lotus flowers on the stalk. The ancient cosmic view is a mixed product of philosophy and astronomy, its original model is that of a "sphere".3 > This thesis textually researches the "sphere'\ "Taiji-diagram", dating from the cosmic view and human-nature response view of the ancient sage, we regard the model of Taiji-diagram as being identical with the "Taiji sphere". The model of "sphere of Yin and Yang-eight programmes" is the same as the model of "Taiji sphere of Yin and Yang".4> This thesis relates the "Taiji sphere of Yin and Yang" with the eight programmes of TCM, and we set up the mathematical model of "Yin and Yang sphere-eight programmes" by using mathematical methods. This model has threefold meanings of philosophy > medical science and mathematics. We concentrate on pointing out the mathematical meanings of the model "Yin and Yang sphere-eight programmes", and want describe directly the course of dialectical treatment of TCM in this model. 5 N This thesis researches the relation of origin and development of Yin and Yang theory with medical sciences> natural science of that time. We simulate the original model of the "Yin and Yang sphere" of ancients' natural worldview based on "Taiji-diagram". On this foundation, we willset up the "Yin and Yang sphere-eight programmes" dialectical treatment model. This model not only has the property of philosophy and medical science, but also has the obvious mathematical character. This is the foundation for building the relationship between ancient TCM and modern sciences. We hope, we can open up a completely new field.
