Since it's first listing in the "shao-yin bin" chapter of "Shang Han Lun. Treatise on FebrileDiseases", the "Si Ni San" (SNS) has been studied and discussed about it's function andapplication focusing mainly on "regulating and harmonizing the qi activities of Jue-Yin Liverand Yang-Ming Stomach" by ancient and modern TCM scholars and practitioners. Based onthe theory of "functional activity of qi" from "Huang Di Nei Jing, Huangdi's lnternaI Classic"or "Canon of Medicine" and its inferred theoretic application about the "functionalmechanisms" of botI1 '.Biao Ben Zhongdian, tip root and middIe" and "Kai He Shu, OpenClose Pivot" between tl1e "Liu Qi, Six Atmospheric lnfluences" and the "Liu Jing, SixChannels or Meridians", the Thesis pinpoints the study of regularity of "harmonizing andregtIlating functioI1" of SNS on the "Yin-Pivol" character of Sllao-Yin ChanneIs and tl1usaboLlt SNS's application. lt conc1udes that. b}' indicating tI1e above and fro111 tI1e tl1eore1icalconnection between the "Yin-Piviot" cl1aracter of Shao-Yin and "Yan-Piviot" character ofShao-Yang. SNS could regulate and harmonize the body's functional qi-activity of "qi, blood.}'in and yan" as a whole.
