Objective: We investigated the value of Calcitonin gene-related peptide, myocardial enzyme activity and MDA in hypoxia rats in order to research the relationship between CORP and myocardial damage. Methods: The concentration of plasma CGRP and myocardial CORP were measured by plasma radioimmunoassay in rats after hypoxia 10mm, 30mm, 60mm, 120mm, compared with normal rats. We measured myocardial enzyme (LDH, CK, CK-MB) and MDA level at the same time. Result: The average myocardial CORP and myocardial enzyme activity were significant higher than that of normal rats, the same as MDA ( P<0.0l). The average plasma CORP was increased in hypoxia rats (<3 Oniin),but decreased in hypoxia rats (>60mm, P<0.0 I). There was a relative con elation between plasma CORP and MDA, the same as between plasma and myocardial CORP. Conclusion: There was a certain relationship between plasma CORP and myocardial damage. The greater myocardial damage was, the lower plasma CORP was. The mechanism of CGRP was related with oxygen free radical.
