Chronic hepatitis B including chronic hepatitis B and lingering chronic active hepatitis B, the course of a long, pathogenesis complex, is one of the common chronic infection in China, with universality, multiple and refractory characteristics. In Chinese traditional medicine, chronic hepatitis B belongs to "hypochondriac pain", "jaundice", "Zhengjia" category, disease bit in the liver, spleen and kidney three dirty. Deficiency of vital Qi and clinging pathogen, asthenia in the root and sthenia in the branch are caused by deficiency of vital Qi, epidemic toxins invasion, Qi and blood stagnancy, and this is the basic pathogenesis. The root is the deficiency of liver spleen and kidney; heat and damp, phlegm, blood stasis as the branch. The paper summarizes the clinical experience of the mentor Professor Lu Bingjiu treating chronic hepatitis B in traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine by the method of searching the literature combining with retrospectively analyzing clinical cases. My tutor considers the three-pronged principle of supporting vital Qi, eliminating pathogen, regulating Qi and blood. The basic principle on treatment of the disease are clearing away heat and expelling dampness, regulating liver and conditioning spleen, drying dampness to resolving phlegm, activating blood to resolve stasis, making up for deficiency of kidney. My tutor stresses keeping pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation and treatment of the ways to bring the solution table, using modern medical diagnosis, combination of syndrome and disease differentiation, selecting traditional Chinese medicine referring to modern pharmacological results, combining with modern Western medicine on chronic hepatitis B to combination therapy. As to improve immune function, stable disease, improve quality of life, reduce or delay cirrhosis, liver cancer and other complications.
