Facial paralysis is a clinical common and frequently occurring disease, the pathogenesis of this disease is not completely clear ,usually it is acute onset .The main features of this disease is the motor dysfunction of one side of the facial muscles. According to epidemiological survey in China: Each year there is about 65-90 million new cases in China, the incidence rate is as high as 50 / 10 million / year,on the early onset of 12 hours to 1-2 days, the symptoms of facial paralysis can reach peak .Now there isn't unified therapeutic method,western medicine usually treat this disease by drugs,but the treatment of acupuncture has been confirmed definite effect.Professor li kai who engaged in diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases, more than 30 years, has accumulated rich clinical experience.She believes the timing in the selection of facial paralysis should be treated in the acute phase when is more better for prognosis,at the same time ,we should make use of the method on shallow puncture instead of strong stimulation on acute idiopathetic facial paralysis. According to different mechanism of disease and different cause of disease, with different pathological characteristics of dialectical repatriated side,and the clinical therapeutic effect is significant.
