Purpose:To investigate and explore the effect of the qi-supplementing and Yang-warming compound recipe in GK rats, measuring the changes of nitric oxide( NO),and superoxide dismutase (SOD)content in serum of the rats (GK rats), to explore action mechanism and its targets for TCM therapy for diabetes cardiomyopathy develop new ideas and provide objective, realistic and scientific experimental data.Material and method:10 male rats were divided into normal group,as a normal tolerances rats (n = 10 ),fed with normal diet for eight weeks ;and 30 male GK rats were feed with high fat diet and then were randomly divided into three groups:the model group(n = 10 ), chinese medicine, the temperature of the group and its(n = 10),western medicine group ,ramipril(n = 10). Model groups, traditional chinese medicine, and western medicine group continue to feed with high fat feed .Experiment end in drug intervention 4 weeks later.Results:1. Compared with the normal group, blood sugar, cardiac function, blood fat and NO content in serum of the rats in the model group are significantly raised, SOD content in serum is significantly lowered, there are statistical significances.2. Compared with the model group, blood sugar, cardiac function, blood fat and NO content in serum of the rats in the administration groups are significantly lowered, and SOD content in serum is significantly raised.3. There are no statistically significant difference in accordance with the comparison of blood sugar, cardiac function, blood fat and NO, SOD contents in serum of the rats among the administration groups.Conclusion:1. The experimental rat DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy) model, established based on the method for feeding high fat diet to rats (GK rats) with spontaneous non-obesity Type 2 diabetes mellitus, could aggravate their myocardial tissue injury, which is similar to the onset and development of human DCM.2. The qi-supplementing and Yang-warming compound can suppress NO content in serum of the rats (GK rats) with spontaneous non-obesity Type 2 diabetes mellitus and lower the level of blood sugar and blood fat of the rats, and can also enhance the expression of SOD content in serum. Prompt: the qi-supplementing and Yang-warming compound can used for the prevention and treatment of DCM.3. The DCM traditional Chinese medicine disease could cause blood vessel blockage and heart vessel blockage stasis after a long time because of long-term delay of thirst relieving, viscera dysfunction and yin and yang qi-blood injury, further turning into this disease. The key of its pathogenesis lies in deficiency of qi and yang, so the fundamental rule for the treatment of this disease shall fall upon qi supplementing and yang warming.
