Medicine And Integrative Medicine Systematic Reviews Of Treatment Of Children With Tourette's

Objective:To make a objective evaluation of the papers on the treatment for multiple tics in children by TCM or Chinese and western medicine. By analizing the related papers, we hope to supply some clues and thoughts for the clinical treatment in the future and promote the development of TCM.Methods:This research was designed a evuluation satandard by the randomized controlled trials and the priniples of evidence-based medicine. We made a table for collecting and evaluating the information of the traditonal Chinese treatment on multiple tics in children supplied by some papers. We also set a database of Excel to evaluate the quality by inputting data and caculating the percentages of different situations. We use Jadad measuring scale for grading and RevMan5 for Meta analiysis.Results:We researched 38 randomized papers.25 papers did not describe the method of random of allocation.37 papers had a westen medicine diagnosis,24 papers had no definite standard of TCM diagnosis.4 papers had clear and right standard, 13 papers set up reasonable and clear standard of exclusion. Only one paper estimated the contents of the sample, and one paper measured the patients' compliance. No paper illustrated the hidden distribution. Only 2 papers adopted double-blind. All studies were processed statistically. 9 papers gave concrete test statistics and P value.13 papers didn't report side effects. Only 6 papers c got 3 points or more by Jadad. Meta shows that the teatment by TCM and the treatment by Chinese and western medicine are superior to the treatment by pure western medicine.Conclusion: 1. The research shows that there are many prolems in the papers about the treament of mutiple tics. Some have a lack of researching methods, some are not so nomative in clinical tests that the conclusion can't be generally accepted.2. Meta shows that the treatment by TCM or the treatment by Chinese and western medicine on mutiple tics are better than the treatment by Italprid and haloperidol, and the former have less side effects. It shows that the teatment by TCM and the treatment by Chinese and western medicine can be developed better in the future.
