Objectives:ExPlore the distribution patterns of Chronic Cervicitis TCM syndrome and pathological types, and identify the related risk factors of Chronic Cervicitis, so as to provide suggestions to the prevention and treatment of this disease. Methods:According to Guidelines for clinical research of new Chinese medicine drug and Chinese Obstetrics and Gynecology, combined with domestic and foreign Chronic Cervicitis studies, a questionnaire is developed. By random sampling method, a total of five hospitals in different levels are selected in Three Gorges Area. By face to face interview and telephone interview, a total of 348 samples are surveyed, who are diagnosed as Chronic Cervicitis cases from June 1,2009 to May 30,2010. For syndrome distribution composition and four diagnostic indicators, descriptive analysis is applied; for group cooperation, test is applied; and then, Logistic regression analysis is applied to investigate each syndrome factors; finally, the distribution patterns of Chronic Cervicitis in the Three Gorges Area are identified.Results:1.The two most common TCM syndrome types of chronic cervicitis are splenasthenic syndrome and damp toxin. The cervical erosion is the main pathological type.2.Considering the Sociological factors, the TCM syndrome types of chronic cervicitis are distributed in different occupations (P<0.05),age and cultural level(P<0.01). 3.In different pregnancy histories, different time of abortion(P< 0.05), different times of delivery, whether or not use contraceptives, history of vaginal and intrauterine operations(P<0.01) show statistical means with TCM syndrome types distribution of chronic cervicitis.4.The symptom of TCM syndrome types of chronic cervicitis is cervical erosion. The symptom of splenasthenic syndrome and Kidney Yang Deficiency is first degree cervical erosion, and symptom of damp toxin is second degree cervical erosion. The damp toxin is the first TCM syndrome type of cervical cyst and cervical inflammation syndromes. (P<0.01).5.Genital tract infection is independently associated with splenasthenic syndrome; Kidney Yang Deficiency is independently associated with age; Damp toxin is independently associated with genital tract infections(Most of the associated infection of damp toxin is fungal infection(P<0.01)), abortion and age(P<0.05).Conclusion:The study shows that splenasthenic syndrome and damp toxin are the most common TCM syndrome types of chronic cervicitis; age, occupation, history of pregnancy and delivery, genital tract infections, vaginal and uterine cavity operation are associated with TCM and western syndrome types of chronic cervicitis; genital tract infection is independently associated with splenasthenic syndrome; Kidney Yang Deficiency is independently associated with age; damp toxin is independently associated with genital tract infections(fungal infection,P<0.01), abortion and age.
